Warning regarding the unauthorized use of the name of a Danish company

The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) warns of a notification received from the Danish supervisory authority, indicating that Bulgarian citizens are using the name of a licensed Danish asset management company to attract investors with fictitious investment offers.

The FSC warns investors of a potential investment fraud being perpetrated through the use of the name and corporate identity of the Danish asset management company “ArthaScope Kapitalforvaltning” A/S, which is duly licensed and supervised by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority.

On behalf of the Danish company, Bulgarian citizens have organised meetings with potential investors to discuss investment opportunities. They have even created a cloned website with the domain ArthaScope — Extend your business across Europe.

“ArthaScope Kapitalforvaltning” A/S expressly declares that:

The FSC urges investors not to rely on any information provided to them during such meetings and reminds them that anyone who wants to invest in investment schemes can verify whether the relevant entities are legitimate and duly authorised or licensed by the competent regulatory authority to carry out the respective activities.

Such verification may be carried out through the FSC website www.fsc.bg and the website of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), in the section databases and registers.

The FSC urges anyone who has attended or has been invited to attend a meeting with the purported representatives to discontinue all contact with them, given the risk of financial losses. Anyone suspecting misconduct or criminal activity is advised to report the matter to the relevant authorities – the Ministry of Interior and the FSC.
